🌳🌳 TREE CARE IN CLIFF'S WOOD AT HORSBERE RESERVE 🌳🌳
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the Reserve (Parking area / Meet-up point).
Where: Meet by the main gate to Horsbere Reserve at 09:30 or after that find us in Cliff's Wood (published coords). Please see the waypoint for kissing gate access to the path for Cliff's Wood.
What: Since 2015 many thousands of trees have been planted in different areas across Horsbere Brook Nature Reserve creating several new woodlands. As the young trees grow we hold regular tree care sessions to ensure they have the best conditions to continue to thrive.
This session will be devoted to the trees in Cliff's Wood. We shall be checking and replacing stakes, guards and ties where necessary as well as clearing weeds around the base of the trees. Please come and join us if you have any time to spare!
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools if necessary. Please bring work gloves if possible. If you wish to use your own tools (shears, hammer) please bring them along but don't worry if you don't have them as the Ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink and maybe a snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 🙂
