INTRO TO AREA:
This cache is one of several placed around Lake Shenandoah to help create a geocache trail of sorts around the lake area. We noticed that, while there were a few caches in the area, there was opportunity for several more along the lake path to "complete the circuit" so-to-speak. This area is popular with walkers, fishermen (and women), and bird-watchers. About 75% of the trail is flat and paved with crushed rock--the entire west, north, and east shores. The 25% along the south shore is wooded with significant undulation, exposed rock, and exposed roots. We hope you enjoy walking this loop of approximately 1.5 miles and we look forward to hearing about your adventures in the comments!
CAUTION! There are some thorny bushes and vines in the woods and scrub areas around the lake! While we have not seen any, others have reported poison ivy in the area.
CACHE DESCRIPTION:
This is a plastic waterproof food container with trade-able items inside. If you get to the coordinates you will probably guess where it is in general terms.
Thank you to my niece Brooke for this cache!
