Geocache Description:

Kuren is a village on the hill of the same name above Stara Vrhnika. It can be reached by going from Vrhnika along the side road to Rovte, passing Ulovka and Mizni dol. On it is the church of St. Nicholas, which was supposed to have been built in the first half of the 16th century. We are at an altitude of 525 m. From here there is a beautiful view over the entire Ljubljana Marshes. On the north side, we can see the Polhogr. Hills and the Kamnik Alps.

The church has a very beautiful wooden coffered ceiling. There are also interesting frescoes on the wall.

St Nicholas visiting church is on Sunday, which is closer to the sixth of December, when St. Nicholas.

St. Nicholas or Miklavž was born at the end of the 3rd century. His name means victory of the people. He was a bishop in Miri. He was born into a rich family, but he distributed most of his wealth to the poor. According to the legend, he gave the three sisters golden apples, or scrotums, so that they would have a dowry. He died on December 6, but the year is unknown.

The treasure is on the footpath from Stara Vrhnika towards Kuren. Take a pencil with you.

Nicholas left a gift for the first finder.
