Our group is starting off 2024 with a picnic at Lake Manatee State Park's pavilion (it's in the back of the park, in front of Lake Manatee). Bring your own lunch and drink for a gathering with new and old Geo-friends (Geo dogs are welcone on a leash). Bring chairs (there are picnic tables, but come prepared), bug spray, sunscreen, hat, your favorite caching shoes and your geocaching bag (the typical outdoor gear).
You can geocache in one of the two sections of the park before and/or after we have lunch together (there are 35+ caches here in total) . If you are fairly new at geocaching, you may be able to get some pointers from some of the more seasoned cachers, we have a few! We're always swapping ideas for hunting and hiding caches. Have you scored all of these caches already? Come, have lunch with us and chat a bit. The park entrance fee is $5.00 per vehicle. Let the park attendant know you're here for the Geocache picnic and they will direct you to the pavilion.
