Come join us for a Meet and Greet on Saturday morning, December 30, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:00 am inside the Chrysler Museum's Huber Court, followed by an optional tour "Eyes of the Storm" - Photographs by Paul McCartney led by Episcodad. This optional tour will be about 45 minutes to an hour in duration.
About 60 years ago the Beatles arrived in New York to play on the Ed Sullivan show with stops in Washington, DC and Miami. They launched a new age of Rock and Roll and exhuberant youth culture. In this Chrysler exhibit, Paul McCartney is sharing the photgraphs he took during this historic "Beatlemania" tour. At the time McCartney was an enthusiastic amateur photographer who documented the trip with over 1000 photographs. From 1964 until this exhibition and coordinating catalogue debuted in June 2023, these photographs had never been printed, exhibited, or even seen. The exhibition captures McCartney's experience of the tour, the frenzy around the Beatles, and their friendship. It gives us a new window and completely different experience of an historic tour that many still vividly remember.
The Chrysler Museum is located at One Memorial Place, Norfolk. Admission is free.
