Geocache Description:

竹間小学校は明治2(1869)年上京第二十一番組小学校として創設された。平成5(1993)年，京都市立富有小学校と統合し，京都市立竹間富有小学校と改称。さらに平成7年に梅屋・龍池・春日小学校と共に統合し，富有小学校の地に御所南小学校ができた。
竹間幼稚園は明治18(1885)年竹間小学校に幼児保育科として創設され，明治42(1909)年に廃止となったが，昭和30(1955)年に再開園した。平成8(1996)年京都市立中京もえぎ幼稚園に統合された。この石標は，竹間小学校・竹間幼稚園の跡を示すものである。
