Cachers love collecting... from new counties to new countries, we all know that feeling of crossing a state line or landing in a new city and knowing you NEED to find at least one cache to get credit for being there! How deep do you go, though? This challenge rewards those who really seek to broaden their horizons and dig a little deeper (or a lot) into the local caching culture to find more than just one cache, just one icon. It's not just about checking boxes, it's about taking the opportunity to try new things, meet new people, and explore your caching options beyond that Airport Adventure Lab, City Square Virtual, or LPC across the State Line. It might take a little more work, but it also offers a lot more reward!
To access this take a stroll on the Tahoe East Shore Trail and enjoy the majestic views! There is long-term parking available by the cafe at Tunnel Creek along the highway, where you can access the East Shore Trail and bikepath heading south. You can also park short-term at the Memorial Point Scenic Overlook and make your way north. The Trail / Bikepath connects Sand Harbor to Tunnel Creek covering a delightly 2.5 miles in one direction.
Challenge Qualifications:
On 1 continent, Find:
1 unique country with at least 3 distinct icons/cache type
1 unique country with at least 2 distinct icons/cache type
1 unique country with at least 1 distinct icons/cache type
On 1 unique/different continent, Find:
1 unique country with at least 2 distinct icons/cache type
1 unique country with at least 1 distinct icons/cache type
On 1 unique/different continent, Find:
1 unique country with at least 1 distinct icons/cache type
That is a minimum of 10 caches to qualify, and a minimum of at least 3 DIFFERENT Cache Types, 6 DIFFERENT Countries, and 3 DIFFERENT Continents. Any cache find (other than Lab Caches and Benchmarks should count towards your total, and almost any cache type that offers a unique icon can be used (Traditional, Multi, Virtual, Event, CITO, Webcam, etc.) Note: Lab Caches, Benchmarks, and Trackables do not count toward qualifications. Tahoe is tourist country and so I'm hoping we get some world travelers coming to visit... and likewise inspire some of our locals get out there and see the world!
