Leap day is like a bonus day we add to the calendar every four years because the Earth takes a bit longer than 365 days to go around the sun. It falls on February 29th and is a special day for fun and celebration! It's also an extra day for geocaching!
Come load up on supplies for your Leap Day Adventures and discuss plans before heading out and racking up some finds.Â
If you are a stats hound like I am then this day is very special. Project GC has Leap Day addons for several of their badges. If your badge level is gemstone level then you can earn addons for finding the following on leap day;

I was listening to the Challenge Talk podcast (Episode 42) and they mentioned a set of tools that aren't easy to find on the project-gc.com website (https://project-gc.com/w/Tools_in_the_checker_system). It lists a bunch of checkers that are not used for challenge caches but are helpful if you are into stats like me.
My favorite so far is - Size/type/D/T-calendar - This shows a different visual interpretation of the calendar grid for each of the available sizes, cache types (with rarer events grouped into one), difficulties, and terrains. -- https://project-gc.com/Challenges//80315
I thought this checker was great to show what you have and haven't found for February 29th which will be coming around next year.
