This cache was placed by Sir Barney as part of the requirements for him to earn the Geo-scenting badge for Dog Scouts. If you have a dog that sniffs things out, this may be for him. There is a bit of clove oil in the container. Clove oil is used because it doesn't attract wild animals but it is one of the essential oils used in nosework. Of course, you can locate it using your GPS and you don't need a 4-legged companion but hunting is more fun with a furry friend, right?
The cache is located in Paul C. Wehner Senior Memorial Park in Shrewsbury. This is Shrewsbury's largest park and has 31.8 acres. Besides a nice paved walking path, the park contains ball fields, pavillions, tennis courts and playgrounds for kids. During the summer, it can be quite busy but even with all those activities that could be going on, they shouldn't interfer with your search.
The cache has no room for swag/trackables, only a log. Please bring your own writing implement. Park hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
