This beautiful area was once a Destination for Aucklanders to come for a picnic, and enjoy some boating on the Henderson Creek ...
It has been well documented in the History books of West Auckland.
After that era, it became for some years a caravan park...and some folk lived there long term.
After some unsavoury events, it was eventually closed down....although a few cabins have remained . As a piece of history...but they are not available to stay in .
Currently it has a beautiful playground , under shady trees , with picnic tables and barbecues available .
It also has a floating boat ramp which suffered damage in the recent major Flood Events .
Plus there is a lovely walk alonside the river.....
Another feature is The NZMCA which has a facility tucked away here ... New Zealand Motor Caravan Association
No need to enter their premises.
I remember alunb stayed here at times !
My cache is magnetic and round the corner....Above head height . Attached to Green ..
It is a sort of tribute to our Travelling Geocachers who do our hobby in Motorhomes !
