A new year and the opportunity for a new series of puzzles involving geometry and/or algebra.
These caches take you back to school years 9 & 10 (or 3rd & 4th Form for those of us that remember back that far) with some simple, although sometimes multilayered, geometry and/or algebra. Enjoy.
A right-angled triangle, ABC, has sides with lengths x, y, & z which are all positive integers.
If x=167, although there are many possible values for y and z, using algebra it is possible to deduce one set of values for y and z, and hence the area of this triangle ABC.
Let a, b, c, ..., g equal the digits of the area of the triangle.
