Officially the first Mega-Event in New England since 2019!Â

SEMAG 100 last June was a lot of work, but so rewarding to see all of that hard work pay off. As soon as the event ended, several people had the same question: can we do it again? Let's give it a try!
Join us for the second annual SEMAG summer celebration event, born from the success of SEMAG 100! This time we will be gathering at Attleboro's Highland Park, a former golf course donated to the city for conservation purposes and an ideal venue for the event. While the buildings in the park look appealing for use, they will unfortunately be off limits for event usage. Portable restrooms will be available for use before and during the event.
If you didn't know, SEMAG stands for South Eastern Massachusetts Association of Geocachers. We have had a monthly event in the SE Massachusetts/Rhode Island area for more than 100 months in a row, dating back to March of 2015. SEMAG 100 in June of 2023 was our 100th straight monthly meeting, hence why we had such a big celebration. People enjoyed that celebration so much that we wanted to try for a SEMAG "Summer Celebration" in 2024 as well!
This event will begin at 3 P.M. and go until 7 P.M. A schedule of events is posted below. Some activities include a Q&A session from a local reviewer and a gadget cache creator workshop/panel. Look for new caches in the area as well as adventure labs. Like last year, a special large log book will be available for signing and will be unveiled at the beginning of the event. Activities such as "toss the ammo can," geocaching BINGO and a kids' station will also be available during the event.
The SEMAG Summer Celebration Kickoff Event will take place in the morning from 9-9:30. Information about this event is available on that cache page. Please note that you do not need to attend the kickoff event to be able to attend this event.
You all helped make SEMAG 100 a great success last year, and I'm sure we can all do it again. Hope to see you there for this year's summer celebration!

3:00-3:30
Official log unveiling/event welcome
Welcome to SEMAG 2024! Take this time to talk to other geocachers, check out the trackable table and see what else SEMAG 2024 has to offer. Tickets will be available for the 50/50 and silent raffles at this time. The official event log crafted by gworol will be unveiled at this time as well, and all attendees are encouraged to sign it. Feel free to take a picture before it is signed!
3:30-4:00
Gadget cache workshop and Q&A
Local gadget cache creators will be answering any questions about gadget cache creations and explaining their gadget cache creation process. These gadget caches will be displayed and available to be experimented with by event goers.
4:00-4:30
Reviewer Q&A
Volunteer reviewer SearchNSeekNEnjoy will be holding an open forum to answer any questions you may have about the reviewing process. They will also be giving out free trackable tags at this time, so be sure to stop by and say hello!
4:30-5:00
Free time!
Nothing will be scheduled for the event during this time, just in case any of the previous things on the schedule happened to go over the time a bit. There will be lots of other geocachers, so say hello to some people and explore some of the park if you haven't done so yet! Visit the "ammo can toss" station in the park or if you have young ones, check out the kids' table for some coloring pages and activities.Â

SEMAG talk and shout outs
Event host 4SwansT will take the stage to give a brief history of how the SEMAG 2024 Summer Celebration came to be, as well as a brief history of other SEMAG events in the area. Other notable people who have assisted with this event will be credited at this time as well!
5:15-5:30
Group photo
The official SEMAG 2024 group photo, taken with a drone, will be done at this time. Luckily there is ample open space in the park to take the photo, especially near the event site. All event attendees are encouraged to be a part of this group photo!
5:30-6:00
Kickoff event raffle and discussion
A separate raffle will take place at this time for anyone who participated in this morning's "cache and dash" for the 30 new caches in the area, published at the conclusion of the kickoff event. Score cards will be examined and graded, and appropriate prizes will be given out. Note that anyone who found any of the caches published this morning and provides evidence of such is eligible. Anyone who provides evidence of finding all 30 caches will automatically win a special prize. Event host 4SwansT will also take this time to ask what went well about the "cache and dash" and take suggestions to improve it.
6:00-6:30
Last call for main raffle
Last call for raffle tickets. This will be the last time 50/50 raffle or silent raffle tickets will be sold. Between 6:15 and 6:30, winners will be drawn and prizes awarded.
6:30-7:00
Event conclusion
The final raffle drawings will take place, as well as the conclusion of the event. Grab any trackables that may be left. Many more thank yous will be given out at this point as well!
