Potholes
Te invito a hacer una excursión por el mágico valle del Río Puritama. A lo largo de miles de años, el arroyo se ha abierto camino en la roca, creando un profundo valle en forma de V. En realidad, Atacama es conocido como uno de los lugares más secos del mundo, pero hay que recordar que la naturaleza ha tenido muchos, muchos miles de años para hacer su trabajo aquí y hay muchas cosas interesantes que descubrir.
Los ‘potholes’, término inglés que significa ‘bache’ pero que literalmente es traducible como ‘agujero olla’ y que algunos geólogos denominan ‘potes’, son unos agujeros u oquedades que presentan la curiosidad de tener una forma redondeada y su superficie interior lisa y casi podría decirse que pulimentada. Es frecuente encontrarse dentro de ellas algunas piedras o cantos rodados.
La forma cuasi circular se debe a que la corrient d'augua traye ruellos de glera que una vegada adintro no en pueden salir y, cada vegada que la enerchía de la corrient d'augua ye prou gran pa tornar a mover-los, chiran adintro de la olla rozando con las parez, provocando una abrasión que ixampla la depresión de lo cauz en totas direccions.
Para registrar Earthcache como "encontrado", responda las siguientes preguntas:
En las coordenadas encontrarás un hermoso Kolk.
Tarea 1 ¿Qué profundidad tiene la bache? ¿Qué diámetro tiene la bache?
Tarea 2 ¿Qué forma tiene la bache? ¿Cómo es la superficie?
Tarea 3 Una foto en el GZ.
Las preguntas se pueden responder fácilmente leyendo el listado y observando el sitio. ¡También necesitas una cinta métrica!
No es una caminata fácil hasta el GZ. ¡Estás rompiendo buenos zapatos!
¡La zona pertenece a la Reserva de Conservacin Puritam atacama!
¡No es necesario que abandones las rutas de senderismo designadas en ningún momento para responder las preguntas de Earthcache!

Pothole
I invite you to take a hike through the magical valley of the Rio Puritama. Over thousands of years, the stream has carved its way into the rock here, creating a deep V-shaped valley. The Atacama is actually known as one of the driest places in the world, but you have to remember that nature has had many, many thousands of years to do its work here and there are many interesting things to discover.
Potholes are created by the erosive force of the water and the abrasive force of transported debris. High flow velocities in combination with the abrasive effect of transported sediments round and hollow out the rock to form deep pools, so-called whirlpools. Swirl pots are also typical for meltwater runoff from glaciers.
To log the Earthcache as “found”, please answer the following questions:
At the coordinates you will find a beautiful Kolk.
Task 1 How deep is the pothole? What diameter does the pothole have?
Task 2 What shape does the pothole have? What is the surface like?
Task 3 A photo at the GZ.
The questions can be easily answered by reading the listing and observing on site.
You also need a tape measure! It is not an easy hike to the GZ. You're breaking good shoes! The area belongs to the Puritama Atacama nature reserve!
!You don't have to leave the designated hiking trails at any time to answer the Earthcache's questions!

Strudeltopf, Kolk
Ich lade Euch ein, zu einer Wanderung durch das zauberhafte Tal des Rio Puritama. Hier hat sich der Bach in tausenden von Jahren in den Stein eingeschnitten und ein tiefes V -Tal erschaffen. Eigentlich ist die Atacama als einer der trockensten Orte der Welt bekannt, aber man muss bedenken, hier hatte die Natur viele, viele tausende Jahre Zeit für seine Arbeit und es gibt hier viel interessantes zu entdecken.
Strudeltöpfe werden durch die Erosionskraft des Wassers und die Schleifkraft von transportiertem Geröll geschaffen. Hohe Fließgeschwindigkeiten in Zusammenwirkung mit der Schleifwirkung von mitgeführten Sedimenten runden und höhlen das Gestein teils zu tiefen Kesseln, sog. Strudeltöpfen aus. Strudeltöpfe sind auch für Schmelzwasserabflüsse von Gletschern typisch.
Um den Earthcache als „found“ zu loggen, beantworte mir bitte folgende Fragen:
An den Koordinate findest Du einen wunderschönen Kolk.
Aufgabe1 Wie tief ist der Kolk? Welchen Durchmesser hat der Kolk?
Aufgabe 2 Welche Form hat der Kolk? Wie ist die Oberfläche beschaffen?
Aufgabe 3 Ein Foto am GZ.
Die Fragen lassen sich durch lesen des Listings und durch Beobachtung vor Ort leicht beantworten. Dazu brauchst Du auch ein Maßband!
Es ist keine einfache Wanderung zum GZ. Du bruchst gutes Schuhwerk!
Das Areal gehört zum Naturschutzgebiet Puritama Atacama !
!Du musst zu keiner Zeit die ausgewiesenen Wanderwege verlassen, um die Fragen des Earthcache zu beantworten!
