The Xarolla Windmill at Żurrieq is one of the windmills constructed by the Order of St. John. It was built in the 18th century and is one of the best preserved windmills in Malta. The windmill is found in a complex of agricultural buildings including a farmhouse, a chapel, and catacombs.
It is the only functioning windmill in Malta as it can still be used to grind wheat. If you want to find out more, you can go inside it on the weekends for a glimpse into the past.
