This cache is located at 225 Great Eastern Highway, which is a mixed use development with big box style retail development - a typical affair along Great Eastern Highway. There is plenty of parking available near ground zero. The cache is also a "quick find" making this a true park and grab.
Art is in the eye of the beholder... and while my opinion of this sculpture isn't fantastic, it seemed like an appropriate spot to put out a cache. I would presume that this development cost more than $4.5 million and therefore under the City of Belmont's Local Planning Policy No.11, the developer would need to provide public art of at least 1% of the value of the development proposal. With that in mind, do you feel that this artwork is worth at least $45,000?...
