Geocache Description:

Welcome to Cartographer’s Conundrum.

This is a mystery cache themed around maps.

To find the coordinates to the container, there are 6 questions you must answer. Each question is related to finding things on maps.

Good luck!

South 29 degrees, 43.xxx
East 152 degrees, 55.xxx

  • Among the countries that share a border with Cambodia, how many have a greater horizontal extent (width) compared to their vertical extent (height)?

  • Decode the following sequence: 22, 1, 14, 1, 22, 1, 14, 1. Search the answer on a map to reveal a number.

  • The following three short poems will guide you to three locations. Apply this equation to what you find. A*B+C
  1. Start your journey where old kings sleep, within towering triangles piercing the desert's sweep. Follow the sunset to a land where dreams come alive, then continue to a city inscribed in calendar’s time.
  2. Begin where the gold is suspended high, behold the city and the bay nearby. Follow the Pacific’s shimmering coast, to where 92 and 1 converge, utmost.
  3. North-West from Birmingham, find a small village that makes you feel Gailey. Now go 2 kilometres South and to the East slightly, to a place where trucks go daily.

  • Draw a line connecting the following points:
    1. A large city near the Caspian Sea with a four-letter name.
    2. The capital of Lebanon.
    3. The only capital city in Africa that shares a name with its country.
    4. The most southerly point of Oman.
    5. The island nation within the Persian Gulf.
    6. The second largest city in Saudi Arabia.
What number does the line resemble?

  • How many Australian state capitals are south of New Zealand’s most northerly point?

  • How many letters are there in the name of the capital city that is 2450 kilometres south of the point where Norway, Finland and Russia meet?

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
