Praça de Touros Traditional Cache

Anteriormente designada como Praça de Touros de Santa Catarina, por se localizar perto das Portas de Santa Catarina junto das muralhas da cidade, a centenária Praça de Touros de Estremoz foi inaugurada em 1904 e por ela passaram, até aos dias de hoje, várias figuras do toureio nacional e internacional.

Previously known as the Bullring of Santa Catarina, as it is located close to the Portas de Santa Catarina next to the city walls, the century-old Bullring of Estremoz was inaugurated in 1904 and, to this day, several figures have performed here from the national and international bullfighting.

Encontrando-se em mau estado de conservação e desactivada havia vários anos, em 2011 o Centro de Bem-Estar Social de Estremoz, proprietário do edifício, cedeu gratuitamente por 25 anos a Praça de Touros à Câmara Municipal de Extremoz para que esta promovesse obras de restauro com vista à sua reabertura. O edifício foi reconvertido e adaptado a espaço multifunções.

Finding itself in a poor state of conservation and deactivated for several years, in 2011 the Estremoz Social Welfare Center, owner of the building, ceded the Bullring for 25 years free of charge to the Extremoz City Council so that it could promote renovation works with a view to its reopening. The building was converted and adapted into a multipurpose space.
