The origin of this day can be traced back to Julius Caesar who created the Julian calendar of 365.25 days in alignment with the time of the Earth's rotation around the Sun, i.e. 3 years of 365 days followed by a year of 366 days. And since the Julian year starts on March 1st, it is therefore at the end of the year that this extra day has been added!
In 1582, the Gregorian reform perfected the Julian calendar, which had shifted by about ten days from the Sun because the exact duration of the Earth's rotation around it is 365.2422 days, by realigning it and creating a rule to avoid the erosion of the model over the centuries, by removing a leap year every 25 occurrences at the end of each century except for years divisible by 400 (1600, 2000, 2400)... The year 2100, for example, will not be a leap year!
The requirement is to have logged at least 1 cache of 3 types which were hidden on February 29 of any year. (Lab Caches don't have a hidden date thus don't qualify)
Using the Checker link below will produce an output similar to this.
