Cousins by blood/Sisters by soul.
My cousin and I have always been more like sisters. We not only grew up together, we remained the closest of friends all through our adulthood- marriage to motherhood; we've always been there for each other.
She really has been here for me this past year just about everyday, checking on me after failed attempts of starting a family. This sweet girl has been my rock for years. I can only hope I am to her as well.
This cache is dedicated to my sweet sweet "Sister-Cousin."
So what's with the mayonnaise corn you ask?
Well, see, we're southern, like very southern. And our grandparents are from Mississippi.
When we were kiddos, our grandmother started my sis and I eating corn mixed with mayonnaise (served chilled), and she and I would INHALE it.
So low and behold, mayonnaise corn gives sis and I OVERWHELMING nostalgia, and as a result, this dish is close to our hearts. As well as keeps us laughing.
We appreciate it because this cache also helps keep the memory of our grandmother alive who would always make us Mayonnaise Corn.
