Die größte und impostanteste Kirche Favoritens steht mitten auf dem Antonsplatz und schon von weitem sichtbar. Besonders vom Reumannplatz ist die Kirche gut zu erkennen. Sie wurde in den Jahren 1896 bis 1901 nach Plänen von Franz von Neumann errichtet. Die Kirche wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg durch Bombentreffer schwer zerstört, so dass erst 1961 die Aufbau- und Renovierungsarbeiten abgeschlossen werden konnten.
Wegen Geldmangels konnte aber die Innenausstattung, unter anderem die Wandgemälde August Wörndles, nicht wiederhergestellt werden. Deshalb sind Wände und Decken weitgehend leer mit Ausnahme der Apsis (halbrunde oder polygonale Altarnische). In der Antonskirche befindet sich am Antoniusaltar die größte und bedeutendste Reliquie dieses Heiligen in Wien, ein 6 cm großes Rippenstück.

The largest and most impressive church in the district Favoriten stands in the middle of Antonsplatz and is visible from afar. The church is particularly good to see from Reumannplatz. It was built between 1896 and 1901 according to plans by Franz von Neumann. The church was badly damaged by bombs during the Second World War, so that construction and renovation work could not be completed until 1961.
However, due to a lack of money, the interior, especially August Wörndle's murals, could not be restored. Walls and ceilings are largely empty with the exception of the apse (semicircular or polygonal altar niche).
