Geocache Description:

If you pass by here in your car, you might miss it.  If you happen to walk/bike by, maybe on your way to the beach, it's a must-see destination with the new walkway and art installations. Check out the links below to learn about this beautification project, the artist Claude Ponti, and the sister-city relationship with Nantes, France.

This cache will require an additional tool to reach the container. You will find that tool at the base of the tree.

Once you have the tool in hand, that should provide some additional geosense as to where the cache container is located.

The bottom of the container has a connection point similar to the one you will find on the tool.

After you have signed the log and anti-gravity has done its thing, be sure to put the tool back exactly as you found it.  It should be mostly out of sight from muggles, hanging from a skinny branch.

Be careful not to step on plants or damage any tree branches.

If you discover or experience any issues with the container, please msg me so I can it back online quickly.

Beautifying Nantes Park

To commemorate 40 years of friendship between Seattle and Nantes, France, Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association (SNSCA) launched a Nantes Park Beautification Project.  The park enhancements included a paved looping walkway, beautiful art installations (that connect Seattle's Nantes Park to the Jardin des Plantes in Nantes), and student student-submitted art tiles along the seat wall. The project has transformed this space from a rarely-used pocket park into a beloved family-friendly space that also reflects the sister-city relationship with Nantes.

Connecting to Nantes through Shared Art

Inspired by the idea of increasing the park's connection to Nantes, the SNSCA worked with Claude Ponti, beloved and prolific French children's author and illustrator. His influence has gone beyond literature and to museums and public spaces in Nantes and internationally, notably with his exhibits at the Jardin des Plantes and the Parc de Beaujoire in Nantes.
