Was totally stoked when I saw on line that some more refurbished tracks in the Waitakeres were now open to the public !
In the Cascades Kauri Regional Park ....a well loved area for generations....
As soon as I could I made a plan with Gorby to check them out .....He was keen , as he had a puzzle final to find there also.
To get there ; go down Te Henga Road off Scenic Drive .... Then all the way down Falls Road....You will see a Golf Course down there too.
The parking area wasn't too full luckily.
Made our way to the start of the Te Piringa Tracks....Taking note, plus photos and reading Informative signs on the way ..
( This may show on maps as Auckland City Walk .)..
The area has had a lot of work done since 2018. I highly recommend it .
We finally did a short walk....including searching for old caches !
Amazing bush and river views...Sturdy boardwalks ...a lot of seating ....
I found a very suitable hide for a Geocache ...So here it is.
Please be stealthy while retrieving and replacing the container..already had one newish cache taken this year !
These tracks will be really busy now they are open again !!!!
Please use the Cleaning Station to help prevent Kauri Dieback.
And stay on the track....
