This geocache hidden within view of Lake Sammamish contains a painting of the lake with Mount Rainier in the background. Lake Sammamish sits in a deep glacial trough formed during the last ice age, and was exposed to sunlight about 15,000 years ago. The surrounding hills are enormous mounds of sand and gravel dropped there by the glacier streams when the lake was much deeper than it is now. While these hills currently are in the most rapidly growing suburban district in greater Seattle, this painting attempts to accentuate their origin as outwashes.

BTW, If conditions are wet, this cache is not recommended, as searching for it could cause erosion. Sturdy footwear also helps.
