This theme cache is in a series of many Groundhog Day installations, and was released in connection with the Groundhog Day Sunrise Event 2024.
Groundhog Mom has given birth to numerous little ones since 2013, and teaching her pups the rules of the forest and how to survive has been a priority. Volunteering as a scout leader for her offspring was the answer.
Rykkinn's scout troop has for many years had its meeting place - Rådsklippen - The Council Rock - in the forest above Busoppveien. Here, scouts have learned many new skills and learned about native plants, animals and birds, while making new friends in this special place. The Groundhog Patrol has adopted Rådsklippen and meets here regularly. You are invited to come and sign your name/nick in their guest book!
