This is a two-stage cache accessible by water or land. If approaching by water, the nearest launch site is probably the Little River Fishing Facility on Orange Factory Rd. If approaching by land, you may wish to make use of the Durham Maps web mapping application available at Interactive Maps | Durham, NC (durhamnc.gov) to help you avoid trespassing on private property.
At stage one, you are looking for a 1.5 x 3-inch metal tag with the coordinates for the cache site. By water, you can then go directly to the final, which is approximately 0.5 miles from the first stage. By land, you will need to approach from a different way.
At the final stage, you are looking for a 12"-long PVC tube that is hanging in plain sight. To access the log sheet, simply pull the pin from the bottom of the tube. There is no need to untie it from where it hangs. The dowel attached to the log sheet will help you spin it into a tight roll. Reinsert the log in the same orientation as you found it and replace the pin. There is no room for swag. Bring your own pen.
Take appropriate precautions during hunting season, especially near the first stage, as several deer stands are visible in the vicinity.
