Behind those closed gates is the former Wolf Society.
It was a sanctuary for wolves in North Bedfordshire and supported and raisedfunds for wolf conservation. The wolves were fully socialised to human beings and enjoyed human company.
The Society aims were:
- To educate and inform the public about wolves
- To promote and support wolf conservation
- To give people who would like to study or work with wolves the chance to do so
This was a non-profit organisation run almost entirely by volunteers and they operated as a wolf study group, not as a commercial attraction.
Unfortunately this closed down in March 2017 after 17years.
Just after the last of the wolves who lived at the Bedfordshire site, died - just months after her older sister.
