Postcards and Pints

Purpose: To create individual postcards to not only tie-in with Groundspeak's current postcard theme for this year, but also provide the possibility to create your own "flown in space" trackable. We have found a private space company that currently flies astronomy-themed postcards on their flights and will stamp them "flown in space" upon return and mail them back to you. From there, if you want to turn your postcard into a trackable, you will have the option to do so via the regular Groundspeak process.
Postcard samples will be displayed so you can get some ideas for how you want to create your own, and we will have the directions and mailing instructions available. We will have 4 x 6 inch postcard size index cards available, along with some basic art materials. There is no cost to attend the event, and you are under no obligation to purchase anything from the bar where it is being held. However, if you would like to enjoy a beer, cider or one of the nonalcoholic beverages on location, you will be responsible for your own purchases.
There is no cost to create your postcard with the materials that will be provided at the event, but if you want to send them to space via the program instructions we'll have available, the space company asks that you put a return stamp with your address on the postcard and mail that to them ahead of time. So a minor postage cost if you opt to do that part. Otherwise, since Groundspeak is doing the digital postcards for Event Labs starting this year, the cards are a fun tie-in for that on their own. Plus, it's a fun opportunity to get together and meet other geocachers.

There is a live music event shortly after this event at the same location which also has no ticket cost to attend. So a fun add-on for anyone who wants to stay a bit longer and socialize. Looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone who is able to make it to this event!
