Welcome to 2024! This is the seventh month of the planets edtions. This month is Planet Uranus the 7th one in our solar system. Uranus is a very cold and windy world. The ice giant is surrounded by 13 faint rings and 27 small moons. Uranus rotates at a nearly 90-degree angle from the plane of its orbit. This unique tilt makes Uranus appear to spin sideways, orbiting the Sun like a rolling ball.
Uranus was the first planet found with the aid of a telescope. It was discovered in 1781 by astronomer William Herschel, although he originally thought it was either a comet or a star. It was two years later that the object was universally accepted as a new planet, in part because of observations by astronomer Johann Elert Bode.
We might need tougher tupperware to handle the ice of the planet when we hide caches there. On a side note, most school teachers loath this planet name as it makes teaching about our solar system tough. Nearly every elementry student snickers and tells jokes with this planets name. I'm sure some would like a 'do over' for the naming of this planet!
This is still the start of 2024. It is a perfect time to share your plans, goals for 2024!!!
