Established in 1888 to cater for the growing military prescence in the colony of NSW. Deceased soldiers were interred here after being farewelled with a military funeral. Elaborate processions arrived into Rookwood on the Mortuary Line complete with firing party and a bugler who played the Last Post. Take a wander around and enjoy the silence.
The Cache
This is a simple offset multi. Go to the posted coords and read the sign, then subtract the number of army personel buried here from the latitude and longitude below:

You will need to ascend to the heavens to reach the cache, take a pen with you on your ascent.
NB: The container is recycled from Rainbow Spirits Fruit Trail Series ( now archived). I found the container laying on the ground, at the base of Dark Plum 2. Those who have been there will understand.
