Geocache Description:

Cache IS at posted coordinates.

Leap Day is necessary to keep the calendar align with the seasons. In years divisible by 4 or 400 a day is added to the calendar in February making the year 366 days rather than a regular 365-day year. There is a leap year every year whose number is perfectly divisible by four - except for years which are both divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400. The second part of the rule effects century years. For example; the century years 1600 and 2000 are leap years, but the century years 1700, 1800, and 1900 are not.

The Earth takes approximately 365.2422 days to complete one orbit around the sun, which is slightly longer than 365 days. Without leap years, our calendar would gradually fall out of alignment with the seasons. As for why February is the month which contains leap day – Julius Ceasar’s “Julian Calendar” declared it so.

This challenge is a celebration of 29 days in February.

In order for you to claim a find you must first have found at least 29 of the 70 positive attributes times 29. This is a challenge cache where you must meet the requirements before claiming a find. I am fine with you signing the log and then posting the find after you have completed the challenge.
