Via Gianfrancesco Re divide idealmente in due il quartiere Borgata Parella e ciò ne fa un'arteria di vitale importanza per il quartiere. Strada di grande passaggio, soprattutto dalla nascita della Linea 1 della Metropolitana di Torino, incrocia a sua volta due delle strade più lunghe ed abitate del quartiere: via Asinari di Bernezzo e via Valentino Carrera. Gianfrancesco Re (Condove, 1773 – Torino, 2 novembre 1833) fu un naturalista, botanico e micologo italiano e fu tra i primi botanici a studiare la vegetazione della Val Sangone e della vicina Val di Susa. Egli fu professore di materia medica nella scuola veterinaria di Venaria Reale (Torino). Pubblicò numerose memorie di botanica e notevoli opere.
Via Gianfrancesco Re ideally divides the Borgata Parella neighborhood in two and this makes it an artery of vital importance for the neighborhood. A road with a lot of traffic, especially since the birth of Line 1 of the Turin Metro, it in turn crosses two of the longest and most inhabited streets in the neighbourhood: via Asinari di Bernezzo and via Valentino Carrera. Gianfrancesco Re (Condove, 1773 – Turin, 2 November 1833) was an Italian naturalist, botanist and mycologist and was among the first botanists to study the vegetation of Val Sangone and the nearby Val di Susa. He was a professor of materia medica at the veterinary school of Venaria Reale (Turin). He published numerous botanical memoirs and notable works.
