Geocache Description:

Scrabbletales is a new game invented by Mogmother and Optimist on the Run on 19/11/2017

  1. Play a game of Scrabble (proper rules or not...)
  2. Record all the words used.
  3.  Use all the words in a short story.

Mogmother then wondered what to do with her stories once she’d got them... Puzzle caches, of course!

Parking for one car should be available in this area but be please considerate.

The cache is hidden at: N52 Score for word used in this case for a gang, minus word for the woman who complained in the shop; biting insect minus two.   Vemuhjxhuoiuud W 002 Desxjdydujmq (qksxjcsdkijxhuo) (uudfbkisxhuu)

Hooped, spavin, joint, jeer, betray, creole, sago, wins, moon, hall la, li, frit, cute, gnat, wizard of, no, pa, ex, ae, dele, time, mike, on it, cord, span, gray, aide, event, biog, outfit, and, at, ne, quag, few. (ou)

That’s the story up to when I wrote to you.

My cousin Ezekiel appeared like the Shopkeeper in Mr. Benn, as he does, and of course this gave A B&C a wizard excuse to practise protecting us. Good thing he had his CCS ID on him, and even then it took a long time and all of us (M-Y, M-Y and me) vouching for him before they accepted he really was him and not an impostor. As there was no space in our house or next door he camped on our ‘lawn’. (now more of a quag).

Feeding one extra was no trouble, he was happy to eat anything, even sago, but more to the point he could read K MacRae’s handwriting and transcribed it for me. Vocab still an issue, not even Scots but a regional creole within that. We discussed his biog in the garden under the moon so’s not to disturb the nipper (and every gnat in Dumfriesshire joined us, I hope they also bit A who lurked in the garden next door. We kept our voices down and hoped she’d not hidden a mike somewhere!)

K MacR bought the house with the bribe paid him to not betray his dice-rigging friend, initially planning to avenge himself on a few ex colleagues who used to jeer at his yen to be self-sufficient. In the event he got sidetracked into playing an elaborate trick on an ‘aide from a suspicious outfit’ who was shouting about the price of cord at the hardware shop. Enemies for life after ae meeting!

MacR’s explanations span several years so I’ve put dele by the finer details.

On one occasion he saw this ‘aide’ leaving the town hall with a grey haired man and went in to ask what they’d been up to; the young lady was all simpering and cute, the clerk told him, and her pa talking about ‘this joint’ and walking like a horse with a spavin- trying to be Americans but about as genuine as a high-jumper in a hooped skirt. Her name seemed to be La-li-ne; I suspect Marlene or similar, and they’d been asking about changing the use of a building to open a pottery: the clerk wins my admiration for remembering technical terms like frit which is apparently a sort of glaze.
