Welcome to the next Meet & Greet hosted by FxBill! Everyone's welcome to come join us for a fun and exciting day! There is an Optional "Icon" Coin Challenge if you would like to participate in it. Don't forget to bring your TB's to discover, drop, or grab!
We will meet up in the Parking Lot near the posted coordinates (See "Passport Release" Waypoint). Then, we'll start the day by heading out geocaching. Anyone participating in the Icon Challenge can pick up a passport at that time.
Icon Challenge:
This challenge is a chance to get as many Cache Types as possible on February 29th. Without them, you will have to wait another 4 years to qualify for some of the challenge caches out there. Or, maybe you are a stats buff and need to fill in a chart on PGC. Either way, you don't want to miss this rare opportunity.
There will be multiple "Artifact Holders" on this challenge. Each cacher who chooses to become a "Holder" will need to commit to attending the entire Event because all "Artifacts" must be present at the Event to proceed to the next stage of the challenge. "Non-Holders" are welcome to join a "Holder" of their choice to work as a team. The Challenge requires group effort and participation to complete.
Stage 1: Become a "Holder"
New caches will publish that will contain "Artifacts". The first to find will have the option of retrieving the "Artifact(s)" from the cache becoming a "Holder". The "Holder" does have the option of trading them, if they find a cache containing other "Artifacts" or collecting more. If you choose Not to become a "Holder" and find "Artifacts", simply leave them in the cache for the next cacher to find. If there are several finders ahead of you and "Artifacts" remain in the cache, take them. You will need all of the them to complete the challenge later in the Event.
Stage 2: Assembly
At 7pm on the Event Day, All "Holders" will have to work together to unite all of their "Artifacts" in order to proceed to the next step.
Stage 3: Decipher
Upon the completion of Stage 2, the results must be deciphered to devise a plan of attack. Now that everyone has the cipher in hand, it will be a race to see who can decode the cipher the fastest!
Stage 4: The Unveiling
Upon completion of Stage 3, it is now time to open up the Prize! Who has figured it out? Who will be the first? Who will get to log the First To Find? Let the army of hunters begin!
Rules for "Holders":
You must have a geocaching profile
You must attend the Event
You must bring your "Artifact(s)" to the Event
You can trade your "Artifact(s)" if others are found
