“The Eleven” is a public artworks that commemorates the Eleven Greatest Moments in the First Century of Pro Football expressed in art form. Commissioned by ‘ArtsInStark’ and the ‘Pro Football Hall of Fame’. You will be visiting 11 pieces of world-class art.
This Virtual Reward 4.0 will take you to TWELVE Stops total in downtown Canton.
You MUST visit ALL TWELVE Stops for this rare D/T rating of 3.5/1.5
Start to finish, it’ll take you less than an hour to complete.
Easy & legal street parking available at marked parking spots (or parking lots) at each Stop within 100 feet IF… you come after business hours or any day of the weekend. During business hours, you may have to hunt for a spot to park.
Metered parking machines take US coins or use the city's parking App. A dime will give you 8 minutes on the meter, more than enough time for a Stop or two. As of February 29, 2024, Parking is FREE after 4pm weekdays and FREE on both Saturday & Sunday.
Important to mention that Canton utilizes One Way Streets throughout downtown. Pay attention to corner and street signs showing the correct direction.
There is NO FEE fee to visit any of these stops, all available to the public 24/7 and 365 days of the year. If you do this at night, be smart, bring a buddy. Heavy snow on the ground could increase difficulty finding answers, use your foot to brush it away.

The posted coordinates will take you to the 'Required Photo Task' for this Virtual.
There, you must take a selfie of yourself with the ‘Canton’ sign behind you as well as the 65 foot tall Rotunda Spires.
OR
Post a picture of the ‘Canton’ sign and Rotunda Spires with a piece of paper showing your Geocaching name. Look at this pic for an example.
Your choice, one of those MUST be included in your Log.
Required Logging Tasks - 11 Questions
Each of the 11 Stops has a unique question that you must answer. No answers are the same. Send these answers to me via geocaching messenger or email through my profile. Do NOT post in your log.
You can visit the Stops in any order you please. They are not sequential. Each Stop is numbered 1 through 11 and has a description of what you are looking at. The coordinates for each will put you in the best spot to answer the question posed to you. The tall buildings could affect your GPS accuracy, if so, look at the satellite image to narrow your search.
The 11 Questions
Stop 1. "BIRTH" OF THE NFL (1920)
The sculpture was constructed near the site where the agreement was signed to form the American Professional Football Association, later renamed the National Football League.

The sculpture celebrates NFL Commissioner Bert Bell’s idea, now known as the NFL draft.

This installation celebrates the "Forgotten Four"; Woody Strode and Kenny Washington signed by the Los Angeles Rams and Marion Motley and Bill Willis signed by the Cleveland Browns, breaking the color barrier in professional sports a full year before Jackie Robinson began playing professional baseball.

Stop 5. FORMATION OF THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (1959)
This concrete sculpture represents the formation of the American Football League and its innovations to the game, including the use of television. Eight men, including Lamar Hunt, led the league that once competed against the NFL.

This abstract metal sculpture captures the essence of the battle between and eventual merger of the two leagues.

Stop 7. THE ICE BOWL (1967)
The brick sculpture captures the final touchdown of a historic game in frigid conditions on New Year’s Eve 1967 at Lambeau Field, when Bart Starr and the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 21 – 17, culminating Vince Lombardi's era with the Green Bay Packers.

This mural celebrates one of the greatest upsets in sports history, the year Joe Namath guaranteed and led his New York Jets to victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts.

Stop 10. PETE ROZELLE (1960)
During Pete Rozelle's 20-year career, he secured the first league-wide television contract and navigated the merger of two leagues creating a spectacular showdown we know today as the Superbowl. By the end of his time as the commissioner of the NFL, Rozelle had led it to be America's most popular sport

Failure to submit the answers or picture within 72 hours of your posted log will result in your log deletion without notice.
Each individual Geocacher logging this MUST submit their own answers to me and MUST submit the required photo on their log. No Team submissions, NO exceptions. It is too hard to keep track of WHO cached with WHO especially when one Geocacher logs immeidately and the other does not log until months later.
