This virtual cache will bring you to the Ness Of Sound, Coast Battery from WW2, which is along the Ness Of Sound Coastal Route trail. If you choose to hike the whole trail, it is a 4.8km loop. You can hike here from the nearby town of Lerwick. The trail gets steep towards the south end and may be slippery in wet weather. Also watch your step where you walk, as you may be walking among sheep.
You will be looking for a mural of a former world leader promenantly displayed inside these ruins with the the words "FREEDOM IS A HUMAN RIGHT" painted next to him and his clan name on the other side that he is often refered to by.
Enjoy your time here and along the trail. It is beautiful.
Logging Requirements
1) Send me a message with his name that he is commonly known as (not his tribe name that is on the mural).
2) Post a photo of your choice (DO NOT include any part of the person in question in the mural in your photo) with your log of the battery ruins, view of the Ness Of Sound (with your back to the mural), one of the other pieces of art at the battery (The image of The Joker perhaps...it's fading) or whatever catches your interest.
