Enjoy a walk across the almost 200' long 1909 swinging pedestrian suspension bridge over the Brandywine.
Looging requirements:
Post picture of yourself or personal item either on bridge or showing the bridge
or
Send me the number of rivit heads on one side of middle of bridge that join top horisontal steel beams (kind of like massive hand rail)
OPTIONAL: Did you detect any bridge movement when someone crosses the bridge
This bridge is an uncommon and attractive example of a suspension bridge constructed to carry non-motorized traffic. Bridges like this are sometimes called swinging bridges. This bridge, has pony stiffening truss that makes it much more stable than some of the suspension footbridges . This bridge appears to retain decent historic integrity. While the cables may have been replaced, the riveted stiffening truss and riveted towers appear to be original and unaltered. As such, this should be considered a historically significant bridge.
