Geocache Description:

The Old Mission Dam is a historic water impoundment structure in Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego, California. It was built about 1803 to impound the San Diego River to provide water for irrigation of the fields associated with the Mission San Diego de Alcalá, the first Spanish mission in what is now The State of California. It was the first major colonial-era irrigation project on the Pacific coast of the United States. The surviving remnant of the dam was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963. Logging Requirements:

Both of these are required - failure to do so will result in deleted logs.

1. (Observation Point Waypoint) Take a photograph of yourself from the observation point that shows you and the dam in the same photo.  Alternatively, you can take a picture of your gps device with the coordinates showing with the dam in the background.  You need to include sufficient evidence that you were actually there on the day of your log.  Please place this photo along in your log entry.

2. (Large Rock Waypoint) At the large engraved boulder find the date this was placed.  Email or message me this date.  Do not include in your log.
