The Saint Louis Zoo is rated as one of the best zoos in the country. It is recognized as a leading zoo in animal management, research, conservation, and education. The St. Louis Zoo is one of the few zoos in the country that does Not charge an admission fee. There is a fee to park in the zoo’s two parking lots, but parking along the streets in Forest Park is free.

There are 4 stations along the railroad route and, although there is a fee for riding the train, the tickets are good for all day. Since the St. Louis Zoo encompasses 90 acres, the train is a good way to get around the zoo and save some walking.
