Welcome to Escondido
Welcome arches are used to welcome people to a community and to make a memorable first impression. Symbolicly arches can mean a new beginning. They can be a symbol of generosity, good will and charitable giving.
Welcome arches are also called gateway arches, gateway signs or simply city signs. Regardless of what they are called, Escondido has a new beautiful arch.
Escondido's sign is called The Gateway Arch. It was scheduled to be dedicated in March of 2020, but because of Covid it wasn't dedicated until May of 2023. The 40 foot by 108 foot arch recognizes the generosity and community spirit of Escondido residents.
In order to claim this Virtual Cache please message us which Escondido High school class is on the membership list and take a photo of the arch and add it to your log.
