Geocache Description:

Blue Heron Preserve is a 116-acre park that is owned and managed by Western Reserve Land Conservancy. This property was the site of a sand and gravel mine for 26 years. It was opened to the public after reclamation to a more natural state.

There are trails that lead to two ponds, a small wetland, and an observation deck that looks out to a large wetland with several acres of open water.

The water, grasses, and woods at the preserve attract many resident and migratory birds. There are also plenty of wildflowers, butterflies, dragonflies, reptiles, and amphibians at Blue Heron Preserve.

The gate is open from dawn to dusk. The drive and parking lot may not be plowed during the winter.

Placed with permission of Western Reserve Land Conservancy.

The logging requirement is:

-Take an image looking out toward the open water of the wetland from the coordinates or anywhere on the observation deck or elevated viewing point. The image must include at least part of yourself or a personal item. The image must be included with your Found log or added in a Note, otherwise the Found log will be deleted.

Posting of additional images from your visit are always encouraged.
