Geocache Description:

Weclome to the starting point of the American Revolution

I could go on and on about the importance the of the early morning skirmish here between the British Regulars and the Lexington Minute Men. Or the details of the events leading up to April 19th, the events that morning in Lexington later in Concord and then the whole of Battle Road all the way back to Charlestown. I have studied and written on that first "Armed Conflict" of the revolution and can even give you details on why it happened the way it did. How did Captain Parker and the other Minute Men find themselves face-to-face with the British Regulars. What were their intentions, why were they on the green that morning and not already headed to Concord.  However, I am going to allow you to learn about the Lexington Minute Men by looking at variuos monuments on or around the town green.

The posted coords are for a point near the middle of the Lexington ___________ Green. That middle word has six letters and you need to know the first one.  At each waypoint you will find another letter as described in the individual waypoints.

For Example: If Wayoint one's description was "Last Line, First Word, Second Letter" you would look at the historical marker and find the first word of the last line (Let) and record that the second letter is an "E". Once you have gone to all to all you will have 7 letters (First letter is from the posted coordinates.) That group of seven letters is what you need to send to me to claim a find on this Virtual Cache.

In addition to the virtual waypoints 1-6 listed below there are numerous other places and plaques around the area that talk about the Battle at Lexington Green and the start of the American Revolution. I have also included reference wayponits 7 & 8 which are National Parks visitor centers focussed on the start of the American Revolution.
