Vorzeichen der Badischen Revolution
Am 12. September 1847 versammelten sich im Saal des Salmen die „Entschiedenen Freunde der Verfassung“. Sie verabschiedeten 13 Forderungen des Volkes in Baden, wie z.B.:
- Persönliche Freiheit
- Pressefreiheit
- Lehr- und Versammlungsfreiheit
Diese Forderungen gelten als das erstes demokratisches Programm Deutschlands.
Von 1875 bis zur Reichskristallnacht 1933 diente der Salmen der jüdischen Gemeinde als Synagoge.

Signs of the Baden Revolution
On September 12, 1847, the “Resolute Friends of the Constitution” gathered in the Salmen hall. They formulated 13 demands of the people of Baden. Among them:
- Personal freedom
- Freedom of the press
- Freedom of teaching and assembly
These demands are considered to be the first democratic program in Germany.
From 1875 until the Reichskristallnacht in 1933, the Salmen served as a synagogue for the Jewish community.
