A mai Madách Imre Művelődési Központ helyén egykor Tragor Ignác háza állt, aki több mint 40 évig volt a Váci Takarékpénztár igazgatója. 1896-ban megalapította a Váci Múzeum Egyesületet és a város nyilvános könyvtárát. Helytörténészként elsősorban Vác múltjával foglalkozott, és több könyvet is írt a városról. Bár még életében felmerült, hogy a múzeumot róla kellene elnevezni, ezt szerényen visszautasította. (Tiltakozása ellenére halála után ez megvalósult.) Az egyik könyve a világhálón is valódi élményt nyújthat.
Nagy népszerűségnek örvendett az egykori házhoz tartozó park. Kicsiny arborétuma, tava és rózsakertje sokakat vonzott. A fák között nagyobb politikai eseményeket is rendeztek a rendszerváltás előtt. A közeli iskola diákjai számára főként ősszel és késő tavasszal kint, a lombok között tartottak foglalkozásokat.
A 13 oszlopból álló "lugas" ma az aradi vértanukra emlékeztet. Az oszlopokon a kivégzettek cserép portréit találhatjuk. Némely oszlop további hírességekre is emlékezik.
Sajnos ma már a ritkán látogatott helyek közé tartozik, pedig a közeli főút nem tudja elnyomni a hely varázsát.

The house of Ignác Tragor, who was the director of the Váci Savings Bank for more than 40 years, once stood on the site of today's Imre Madách Cultural Center. In 1896, he founded the Váci Museum Association and the town's public library. As a local historian, he mainly dealt with the past of Vác, and wrote several books about the town. Although he was still alive, it was suggested that the museum be named after him, but he modestly declined. (Despite his protests, this was done after his death.) The park belonging to the former house was very popular. Its small arboretum, lake and rose garden attracted many. Before the regime change, larger political events were also held among the trees. For the students of the nearby school, classes were held outside among the leaves, mainly in autumn and late spring.
The "lugas" consisting of 13 columns today reminds us of the martyrs of Arad. There are ceramic portraits of the murdered on the pillars. Some columns also commemorate other celebrities.
Unfortunately, it is now one of the rarely visited places, even though the nearby main road cannot suppress the charm of the place. (The work in the middle of the "Rose Garden" could even fit a sundial.)
