Parliament House has a fantastic view from the rooftop garden area all open to the general public
Access hours are 9.00 am to 4.45pm daily. Parking underneath is FREE for 1 hour. You still require a ticket at the boom gate, but its FREE.
You will need to go through security.
Then go up the main white marble steps to the left . At the top turn right and go straight for about 100m until you find the lift on the left that says rooftop access . Go in here and push rooftop.
Then , find GZ:
REQUIREMENT: GO TO THE ROOFTOP . AT GZ , FACE THE WAR MEMORIAL AND JUST TAKE A PICTURE OF THE WAR MEMORIAL ,ANZAC AVENUE AND OLD PARLIAMENT HOUSE IN THE ONE PHOTO AND POST IT WITH A PHOTO OF EITHER:
1/ YOURSELF IN THE PICTURE.
2/ YOUR GPS RECIEVER IN THE PICTURE.
3/ YOUR GEOCACHING NAME WRITTEN ON SOMETHING IN THE PICTURE.
ONE OF THE 3 WITH YOUR FOUND LOG . ITS THAT SIMPLE!
Any photo not from the roof will find the found log deleted . Don't fudge !

One million cubic metres of earth and rock were removed so Parliament House could be built into Capital Hill. When the building was finished, the earth was placed on the roof and covered with grass to recreate the shape of the hill.
