Boven in de gevel van het Stadhuis draait elk heel uur het ruiterspel, in de Bossche volksmond ‘de pèrdjes’ genoemd. Vier ruiters in harnas draaien rond een vestingtoren tegen elkaar in. Ze worden begeleid door twee trompetters te paard die aan de zijkanten vast zijn opgesteld. De pèrdjes draaien vermoedelijk al ruim driehonderd jaar hun rondjes.
De geschiedenis van de pèrdjes is niet helemaal duidelijk. In 1679 krijgt Jurriaen van Zutphen een bedrag van 280 gulden voor het maken van een nieuw mechaniek om de ruiters te laten draaien. Daarmee is duidelijk wie het mechaniek maakte, maar over de pèrdjes zelf kan niemand echt uitsluitsel geven. Volgens een rekening kreeg Daen Adraensz in 1672 36 gulden betaald voor ’het snyden van 6 paerdekens’. Maar volgens een andere rekening sneed Jacob Roman in 1679 ‘vier ruyters en twee trompetters te paert’. Hiervoor ontving hij 14 gulden. Het is goed mogelijk dat dit nog de huidige beeldjes zijn. In 2017 zijn de pèrdjes gerestaureerd.
Logvoorwaarden:
1. Maak op de juiste tijd een foto van de draaiende pèrdjes en de klok
2. Zorg dat de teamnaam goed zichtbaar is op de foto
3. Voeg de foto toe aan je log (je hoeft de foto niet naar de CO te sturen)
Foto bewerking is niet toegestaan. Logs die niet aan de voorwaarden voldoen moeten helaas worden verwijderd.

Every hour on the hour, the horses, known locally as ‘de pèrdjes’, turn on the top of the facade of the Town Hall. Four riders in armor turn against each other around a fortress tower. They are accompanied by two trumpeters on horseback who are stationed at the sides. The horses have probably been doing their rounds for over three hundred years. The history of the horses is not entirely clear. In 1679, Jurriaen van Zutphen received an amount of 280 guilders for making a new mechanism to make the riders turn. This makes it clear who made the mechanism, but no one can really give any definitive information about the horses themselves. According to an account, Daen Adraensz was paid 36 guilders in 1672 for ‘cutting 6 horse blankets’. But according to another account, Jacob Roman cut ‘four riders and two trumpeters on horseback’ in 1679. For this he received 14 guilders. It is quite possible that these are still the current statues. In 2017 the horses were restored.

1. Make a picture of the turning horses and the clock at the right time
2. Make sure your team name is visible on the picture
3. Upload the photo to your log (there is no need to send the picture to the CO)
