A Virtual Cache in a local cemtery with more meaning that you could ever understand
let's start with the name, Chips of Wood County is a book my Grandmother (Adele W Vickery) wrote and published in 1969. It's all about the early history of Wood County. I'm sure you could find a copy of it in the Quitman Library, I personally gave them about two hundred copies after she left us. Adele W Vickery is burried somewhere in this cemetery. Next to her is who I believe to be the greatest man to ever live. A.N.Vickery Jr. was a simple hard working, family man, who taught me RIGHT from WRONG, that a man has to stand up for what he believes in, and will have to answer to someone for everything he does. Next to them is my Great Grandparents who I did not get to spend near enough time with. On the north west side of the cemetery, in the older section, you can find my Great Great Grandparents not to mention numerous aunts and uncles Among the names related to me are Mosely, Blackwell, Moody, and Fluornoy, their are just to many to mention, after all my family has been in wood county for a hundrend and sixty years I will also be burried right here as will my wife, children (3) and grandchildren (2 as of now) some people may think that morbid or sad to think ahead but I know no one lives for ever and like Tanya Tucker said "when I die I may not go to heaven 'cause I don't know if they let cowboys in, but if they don't just let me go to TEXAS 'cause TEXAS is as close as I've been."
The Additional Waypoints are Vickery Headsotones, either single stones or clusters.
Find the graves of A.N, Jr. and Adele W. Vickery.
