Break out your snowboots, grab your best birdseed offering and become the Disney princess you always wanted to be! Experience the magic of little feathered friends eating from your hand! A short hike from the road to our family's not-so-secret spot will land you among some of the friendliest (hungriest?) mountain chickadees you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Just hold out some bird-appropriate food (they particularly like no-shell sunflower seeds) and let the fun begin.

While this location is accessible year-round, the chickadees are most motivated to approach in the winter when other food is scarce. If you visit in the warmer months, you might only see them in the trees. Chickadee Ridge, about a mile up the hill, offers great views of Lake Tahoe regardless of season!
