Geocache Description:

The LightHouse Keeper's Cap

The LightHouse Keeper was a patient fettler of finicky lamps, sign writer, artist, boatbuilder, father, husband and, a servant of the people living and working on the remote lights by the sea.
His cap and its badges are a symbol of his authority, a record of his service and a reminder of the esteem that was once afforded to his role. One of several it served him well over many years, even into the retirement years where it lives on the rear window shelf of the Commodore, it's resemblance to a more constabulary garment discouraging tailgaters.

Cape Leeuwin is the most South-westerly point of Australia, with Augusta established in 1830 making it the third oldest settlement in Western Australia. It's also where Australia's tallest mainland lighthouse - Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse - sits atop a rugged coastline where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet creating very strong currents.

Before the lighthouse was built there were 22 shipwrecks in this area, but only one after its construction.

In my opinion this Lighthouse Keeper's Cap brings to mind the unusual quirky nature usually found in “Dr Seuss” books,

namely his story 'Cat in a Hat'

I would like your opinion!
In order to log this cache:

1. Take a stance, any stance, a funny stance, a comical stance, a whimsical stance, or a stance like Cat in the Hat for a selfie on the pathway infront of the Lighthouse with your cap or hat.
Whether it be a red hat, blue hat,
one hat or ten, a geocaching cap, a sailor's cap, a seafarer's cap, or even a Lighthouse Keeper's Cap!

You maybe facing the camera for a selfie or you maybe facing the Lighthouse (that is if you do not wish to have a photo showing your face)

But please have you, yourself (to identify you have visited the actual gz), your cap or a hat, and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse must be in the background of the photo.

2. Upload your selfie/photo with your log.

3. As an option to write at least part of your log in “Dr Seuss” style rhyme.

My favourite Dr Seuss quote:

You have brains in your head

You have feet in your shoes

You can steer yourself any direction vou choose

You're on your own and you know what you know

And you are the one who'll decide where to go..

And this is how Geocaching leads me to all sorts of places.

“It is fun to have fun, But you have to know how.” Taken from The Cat in The Hat.
