HERE IT IS! If you have ever driven across I-40 in northern Arizona you have no doubt seen the many yellow signs with the black silhouette jackrabbit advertising for this iconic site along I-40. I myself recall seeing similar signs back in the 1960’s when my family was driving across this highway and wanting to stop but dad and mom did not want to take the time. Fast forward to May of 2024 and I had still not ever visited this place until some caching friends and I wanted to make this stop to find the high favorite Traditional cache GC2CY6Z which has been here since 2010.
After finding the Traditional cache we focused our attention on the big jackrabbit sitting adjacent to the parking lot beckoning the visitor to climb on for a picture. This place truly is a must stop and see to satisfy your curiosity for this iconic place. If you happen to see the owners, feel free to thank them for allowing us to place this virtual.
The posted coordinates are for the big “Here It Is” sign (THIS IS NOT THE PICTURE SPOT). The big grey rabbit you seek is easily found another 170 feet due north of the coordinates, adjacent to the parking lot you will turn into.
LOGGING REQUIREMENTS: To log this Virtual you only need to visit the big grey rabbit statue up near the building and take a picture of yourself, group or something displaying cache name with the rabbit. Please be sure to post your picture with your log, that is the requirement.
