The Lincoln penny is 11 feet tall on top of a two foot base stand. The 15,000 pound penny replica is made of copper-colored fiberglass shell over a styrofoam core.
The Lincoln penny stands at the entrance to Lincoln Park. It was unveiled on Lincoln’s birthday on February 11, 2022 when the park was re opened after being closed for 6 years for the construction of the new civic center. Lincoln Park is the oldest park in Long Beach. It was established in 1880.
To log this virtual as a find:
1. Send me the words in the ground in between the blue pole and the penny through the message center. AND
2. Attach a picture of you with the penny in the background to your found it log.
If you do not want to be in the picture, please hold up a paper with the date and your geocaching name visible with the penny in the background.
There is metered parking across the street or 30 minutes free parking at the parking coordinates listed.
Although the penny is available 24/7, it is best to go during the daytime hours. I provided parking coordinates for 30 minutes free parking, but it is best to park across the street.
